Flywheel Ring Gear

This ring gear is welded to the torque converter.
Replacement requires the old ring gear be removed and the new gear welded on and the torque converter balanced.
Ring gears are replaced when the teeth have been damaged from the starter motor pinion gear. This occurs most often when the starter motor is ms-aligned and the pinion gear is not engaging the ring gear at the precise angle necessary to smooth operations.
