This issue will serve as a valuable reference piece on the GT cars for years to come.

  • SPECIAL FEATURE: The Maserati GT Cars - From 1957 to 1986.
    A full-color time-line showing dates and photos of the Maserati GT cars is just the beginning of 34 pages of statistics and photographs. You will find information about the designer to the number of cars produced and all of the specifications and significant variations within each model: 3500 GT and GTI Coupe and Spyder, 5000 GT, Sebring, Mistral Coupe and Spyder, Quattroporte I, II, and III, Mexico, Ghibli Coupe and Spyder, Indy, Bora, Merak, Khamsin, and the Kyalami. You will also find beautiful photographs of the cars, inside and out, as well as comments from owners and leading magazines. Also included in this issue is a full-color foldout of all of the Maserati Grand Touring Cars.
  • FEATURE: Maserati Museums -- They Have Been Saved. An article found in the Italian publication Ruoteclassiche, December 1996 by Gianfranco Stefanelli. The 18 Maseratis that were to be auctioned at the International Auction that Brooks had scheduled have been brought back from England to Modena. They were saved by Umberto Panini, the former picture card industrialist, who allocated three billion lire (about 1.8 million dollars). A sad event with a happy ending.
  • FEATURE: Concours Italiano '98 and Maserati Days '98. Overview of the coming year's event. Two pages devoted to the full day's projected program at the 20th Annual Gathering of the Faithful on the Monterey Peninsula in Northern California. Includes the schedule, events, special guests and marque, and spectator information.
  • CONTRIBUTING EDITORS: "It's a Kind of Magic," by Berthard Ollmann of Essen Germany. ". . . if the Boomy could speak -- he could tell some story!. . ." You will enjoy this "love" story about a man and his Boomerang.

  • INTERNATIONAL NEWS: Report from the Maserati Classic 1997 is featured. Many photos as well as a list of attendees and their cars. As always, the International Club Listing can be found on page 76.
  • NEWS & PEOPLE: Newest Enthusiast, baby Cameron Penn, Keith Martin, David Falossi, and visitors to MIE Headquarters Jeffery Lees and Robert Digennaro are featured. Richard Toplin, an enthusiast, passed away in December and a memorial is published in his honor.   • FEATURE: Interview with Dr. Andrea Zappia, Director of sales for Ferrari and Maserati, Frank Mandarano intervied Dr. Zappia at the 1998 Geneva Auto Show in March, which marked the first time Ferrari had presented itself to the public as the new owner and manager of Maserati.
  • FEATURE: Maseratis at Concorso Italiano. Four pages of color photographs showcasing some of the fantastic Maseratis that lined the Green. Final page is a listing of the '98 Maserati Days Awards.
  • FEATURE: The Maserati 228. By Martin Rudow, photos by Frank Mandarano. This story features Jack Hung's super-tuned and customized 228. Get a feel for how beautiful and f-a-s-t this car really is. Lots of color photographs.
  • FEATURE: The Maserati Eldorado -- World's Fastest Ice Cream Machine, by Martin Rudow and Frank Mandarano. Re-discovering one of Maserati's boldest designs: the Eldorado, built to take on the world. Background, races, specs, and photos galore. This important piece of Maserati's history is in the Panini Collection in Modena.
  • FEATURE: Eight Cylinder Maserati, by Massimo Clarke, Auto Tecnica. An incredible 12-page article complete with supporting photographs on Maserati's latest 8 V - 4AC- 32v engine.
  • FEATURE: Grand Prix Historiques de Monaco. A ten-page photo story by MCI member Walter Baumer of Dusseldorf, Germany. You will enjoy hearing and seeing some of the most famous vintage racers. November 1998

This special issue features the debut of the new Maserati 3200 GT at the Paris Auto Show.

  • FEATURE: The Maserati 3200 GT debut. 36 pages of color. Published in English and Italian.
    Special sections include:
    • "The 3200 GT, an overview." A true Maserati, it heralds the beginning of a new story for the "Trident" Marque. It uses the 'GT' initials as a reminder of the company's first great road car -- the 3500 GT -- which had long and acclaimed success.
    • "The Modena Expo."A special presentation was made to the press and special guests in Exposition Hall of Modena. Historically important Maseratis were used to help tell the story of the birth of the 3200 GT along with Giugiaro's renderings, color swatches, etc. Great photos in this section.
    • "Paris Auto Show." Officially toasting the debut at the Paris Auto Show is Mr. Luca di Montezemolo, Chief Engineer Roberto Corradi, and Mr. Paolo Marinsek, Managing Director of both Maserati and Ferrari.
    • "Inside the Factory." Frank Mandarano takes us into the Factory where we can almost hear the sounds of the assembly line.
    • "3200 GT Spyder." Reprinted from the October issue of Automobilismo magazine, we get an idea of what the 3200 Spyder might look like.
  • REGIONAL NEWS: John Asmus, Regional Director, reports on the Club's attendance at the Annual Bocce Ball Tournament and Picnic, and a few notes on the '98 Concours Italiano and Maserati Days events.
