Atlanta's 9th Annual Italian Car Day

Atlanta's 9th Annual Italian Car Day was held on October 8th at Kurt's Restaurant in Duluth, GA. The wet weather miraculously cleared overnight just in time for glorious blue skies on Saturday morning. This year's show included a spectacular array of cars including a $1 million plus Ferrari Enzo, an awesome F-50, F430, and many examples of other timeless Ferraris. Lamborghini owners presented the stellar Murcielago, a Gallardo, Diablo, Countach, Espada and a rare Uracco. We enjoyed several Maseratis including two Boras and a Khamsin along with two wonderful DeTomaso Panteras. We had dozens of other classics including Alfa Romeos, Fiats, Lancias and even an Iso Rivolta S4. Other marques included a Moto Guzzi and a Vespa Scooter.

Awards included the top three cars in each marque. Special awards were selected for Best Modified, People's Choice, Kid's Choice Award and the coveted Best of Show Award. A delicious Italian buffet lunch was served by Kurt's Restaurant and $3000 worth of donated raffle prizes were given away.

Onsite Shine owner Jim Thomas gave a free seminar on proper paint care and the secrets of great detailing. The Gainesville Jaycees (www.gainesvillejaycees.org) were on hand with their Ferrari 308GTSi raffle car and donated a raffle ticket for their December drawing. Tickets are still available for only $50 each!

Each registered owner at Italian Car Day received a free 5" x 7" photo of their car at the show courtesy of Onsite Shine. Additional photographs are available from Ginger Harris; E mail her at elvisharris@rtmc.net for more information.

On behalf of the host club Fiat Lancia Unlimited (www.flu.org), I wish to thank all Italian vehicle owners, guests, Kurt's Restaurant, sponsoring vendors, other Italian Car clubs and event workers that support Italian Car Day.
